Ten years after Le Locle relaunched the Chronometry Contest, its awards ceremony becomes a festive celebration of watchmaking precision in 2019. Why? Because a combination of circumstances deprived the prize list of candidates.
Change in the programme of the award ceremony
The December 16, 2019 award ceremony will take place at the Le Locle Musée des Beaux-Arts. Instead of the expected announcement of results, it will celebrate Swiss watchmaking precision with conviction and panache. Program to be available soon.

The Competition 2019 is revealed
Montreux, September 13, 2018, Stravinsky stage converted into a scientific platform open to the presentations of the Study Day of the SSC, the honourable Swiss Chronometry Society: in this leading watchmaking centre, Philippe Fischer, President of the Organizing Committee of the International Chronometry Competition, has just officially announced the 2019 edition. Faced with around 800 watchmaking professionals, he revealed the calendar, between March and December 2019, the new features of the regulations as well as the indisputable reasons for participating.

The 2017 edition of the competition is postponed!
In a meeting on June 2nd 2016, the Committee of the International chronometry competition decided to postpone the edition 2017 and take the time for a total renewal.
The timepieces are exhibited in the MHL
The timepieces of the 2015 Competition are now exhibited at the Musée d'horlogerie du Locle- Château des Monts. They will stay there until end of the year and then return to their owners.
Les Ateliers Louis Moinet and Tissot, the big winners of the 2015 International Chronometry Competition
After undergoing four months of unrelenting tests, and most of all without being returned to the watchmaker, the 33 watches tested under the 2015 edition of the International Chronometry Competition must face the stern judgement of the measurements, the sole ranking criterion. The results were announced on Thursday 22 October 2015 in Le Sentier, at the magnificent premises of Espace Horloger.

All tests are finished!
The timepieces have been submitted to all tests. The measurements will soon be analysed and validated by the jury. The results will be published during the ceremony foreseen on October 22nd in Le Sentier.
Last step in Besançon
The timepieces (or what's left over!) have been transfered to the Observatoire de Besançon for the last step of the tests: the 3rd series of chronometry measurements.

The second series of precision tests has begun at the COSC in Le Locle
After exposure to magnetic fields, the time pieces in Competition are currently measured according to ISO 3159 standard for their absolute precision.
Tonight, let's wait the Earth to catch up
Tonight at 1:59:59, we will add one second to the Universal coordinated time in order to let the Earth catch up its delay. The last time a "leap second" was added was June 2012.
26th June 2015: Ceremony of nominees in a sunny Le Locle
The list of nominees at the 2015 Competition was unveiled this morning. See the press release, the list of nominees and the photos.
Magnetic tests have started today at the HE-Arc
The timepieces started today the magnetic tests at the HE-Arc, according to ISO 764 specifications.
End of the first precision tests
The timepices finished the first series of precision tests according to ISO3159. The results are being analysed for the coming Ceremony of Nominees, to take place on June 26th.
First measurement cycle ongoing in Le Locle
The timepieces submitted in the Watch Museum by May 28th are now being measured according to the standard ISO 3159 in the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing institute in Le Locle. The measurement cycle will end by June 18th.
